Policymakers across the political spectrum are looking for new ways to explain security-related issues to their constituents and to find better ways of building U.S. security. Yet, development and diplomacy experts rarely meet with Congress to promote a prevention-oriented security "toolkit."

We are currently working with other organizations in Washington DC to develop a joint Congressional Outreach strategy to increase funding for development and diplomatic programs.

We are organizing Congressional briefings by local conflict prevention and peacebuilding experts to explain how the development and diplomacy work of non-profit, nongovernmental organizations helps build security. To support this effort, we are developing briefing papers that detail effective development and diplomacy initiatives in conflict areas around the world.
