On Monday, February 5, President Bush submitted his budget request for fiscal year 2008 to Congress. Early reports indicate that the budget request may include cuts of over $600 million for international humanitarian programs supporting child health and survival and critical development assistance.
We need greater investments in development, not budget cuts for these programs that contribute toward US and global security.
Development organizations like CARE are asking for our support in saving funding for crucial development programs that bring security to families around the world. Please join me in helping CARE's campaign to save development funds in the '08 budget.

Security by other Means edited by Lael Brainard, Brookings Institute. 2006.
Thanks for adding your voice to a national call for a new vision for U.S. and global security.
We hope you will return to www.3Dsecurity.org again to post photos of what security means to you and to engage in discussion with people from different backgrounds on a wide range of topics related to security.
And we will count on you in the future to help us make phone calls and send emails when your Members of Congress will be making decisions that impact your security and the security of people around the world.
On behalf of the 3D Security Initiative team, THANKS!
Lisa Schirch
