The 3D Security Initiative offers resources to Congressional offices and committees, as well as other policymakers in the State Department, Defense Department, USAID or other US agencies.

  1. Member/Staff Briefings:  We can identify reputable civil society leaders in nearly every region of the world and arrange to bring them to Washington DC.   We bring civil society delegations from different regions of the world to Congress on a regular basis.We can provide experts who can explain the roles of civil society in conflict prevention, the differences between principled negotiation and coercive diplomacy, and the relationship between sustainable development and human security

  2. CODEL/STAFFDEL Background Prep: We can provide background briefings to Congressional and Staff Delegations traveling to regions where we have civil society networks on the ground.

  3. CODEL/STAFFDEL Meetings with Civil Society Leaders in Conflict Regions:  We can identify and help set up meetings with reputable civil society leaders for Congressional and Staff Delegations traveling to any region of the world.

  4. Policy Briefs: We provide concise 2-page policy briefs with a conflict prevention lens on a wide variety of policy issues.  These are found on the main page of our website.

  5. Conflict Resolution Policy Day:  We bring conflict resolution professionals and students from across the United States to visit their Members of Congress to explain their conflict resolution and prevention programs.

  6. Conflict Prevention and Foreign Policy Congressional Working Group: In spring 2009, we are beginning a conflict prevention and foreign policy working group.
